Pre-Nursing

Offered by Health Science Programs

The following two-year UNK Pre-Nursing Program is broadly designed to meet the College of Nursing requirements for the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Other requirements for admission include completion of 58 credit hours of pre-nursing pre-requisites with a grade of "C+" or better. Admission to the UNMC nursing program is competitive and based on scholastic record and personal recommendations. Students accepted to the program may complete the two-year nursing curriculum on the UNK campus in the Health Science Education Complex. The students will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from UNMC. For more information on the BSN degree from UNMC, see UNMC College of Nursing, Kearney Division. Students applying to nursing schools other than the UNMC College of Nursing should consult with their advisor and check with those schools for specific course and admission requirements.
