Students selecting a major in Media Studies must earn a minimum 2.5 G.P.A. in the major.

Students selecting a major in Media Studies must compile evidence of achievement particular to their chosen career field. Students will present this portfolio and discuss its contents with a Faculty Portfolio Committee in the semester prior to their graduation.

MATH 106 or any approved LOPER 4 course. Sport Communication students are encouraged to take STAT 241. Students without sufficient preparation will also need to take the following, increasing the total credit hours needed:

Students without sufficient preparation will also need to take MATH 101, increasing the total credit hours needed.

Designated courses with the appropriate content may be approved to satisfy one of the Broad Knowledge requirements plus LOPER 9 or Broad Knowledge plus LOPER 10. Courses may be approved to satisfy LOPER 9 or LOPER 10 alone. (Courses satisfying LOPER 9 or LOPER 10 alone must be 3 credit hours.) Students applying this option will need to take additional hours in other categories to meet the required General Education hours.

Students are encouraged to take the Communications specific section of ENG 102.

Must take JMC 350 two times for a total of 4 credits.

May take no more than 3 credit hours from JMC 475 or JMC 499 for major elective credit.
