In the second semester of the sophomore year or after having completed a majority of these classes (ART 102, 105, 118, 202, 211 and 221), every art major must take and satisfactorily pass the Sophomore Portfolio Review (SPR). The review is conducted fully online. The submitted portfolio will contain examples of the student’s artwork as well as writing. Details are available on the art department website. Each student must pass the SPR in order to be allowed to register for junior level courses, or to continue in the BFA program. The SPR document can be accessed at
