Early Entry/Dual Enrollment

Early Entry

The University of Nebraska at Kearney encourages high school students whose maturity, achievement, aptitude and goals warrant special consideration to seek early entry. The program provides an accelerated educational opportunity with UNK credit being granted. Acceptance is contingent upon a recommendation from a high school official. Students seeking early entry must complete the Application for Undergraduate Admission and submit the admissions application fee of $45.00.

Dual Enrollment

The Dual Enrollment Program through UNK provides an opportunity for high school students to obtain college credit for classes taught at the high school by a high school instructor approved by UNK. The credit earned is applied toward high school credit at your high school and college credit at UNK. The grades earned in dual enrollment courses become a permanent part of the student’s college academic record. The application and registration process is coordinated through the high school counseling office and the UNK Office of Admissions.

All early entry/dual enrollment students may enroll for a maximum of eleven credit hours per semester and a total of 30 semester credit hours prior to completion of their high school requirements.
